Mandatory new user thread.
Hey people,
I was thinking, should we make it mandatory for new users to post in the new arrivals forum before they are allowed to view and post in any other area of the forum?
This could help both new and existing users by people getting to know each other right from the start.
I've just have to find a way to do it.

I'm not so sure its a good idea. I mean yes it would be lovely for everyone to make an intro thread, but some people may simply not want to. Some may be more concerned with getting help than making friends. Some may be hiding from people. Personally, I wouldn't wanna make an intro thread until I'd looked around the site and got to know the feel of it first.
I think if people want to make an intro thread, they will.

yeah i agree with katie. cause way back when then there were lots of people that looked around for a while, then registered, then posted. and she is right again that some people just want to hide. its like some dont really want to come out in the open and tell everyone that they are here. ya know. yeah its a good idea, for some. but for some others, it really isnt. oh and i dont think i even made one when i came here. course most people know me, but you get the point.

actually yes i do agree with what you both said and it probably isnt the best idea to force people to post.

how about a pm that suggests they make one, that way people who would feel more compelled and those who dont wanna can simply...not.
