Advertise Exasco in Your City

Ok, this is pretty big, but im prepared to do it, and I want as much input as I can get.

The way I look at it, we shouldnt hide from everyone, instead we should let the world know who we are, what we are, where we are, and that we can help.

Im starting to design a 'Kit' of sorts which I will be able to mail all over the world. The kits are going to contain brochures, bumper stickers, posters, stickers, car window stickers - possibly even in the future some shirts...

I have a fair few good contacts in the printing industry aswell as the gfx design industry (although most of it WE will design).

The kits can be packaged up and sent out to YOU so you can give em out and spread the word a bit. In terms of cost - i think we would have to put a small price on the kits, just so they dont get wasted (free things are easier to waste than something you paid for)

All this is still on the drawing boards for me, but for now what i want from everyone here is a huge brainstorm.

I want ideas
I want designs
I want anything and everything that could go into such kits. What will the brochures contain? Whatsort of stickers you want? What will the posters say?

ANY IDEAS at all!

Good at gfx? make something and post it!
Good at articles? Write something and post it!

I may look at even starting some form of newsletter in conjuction with Mark n Tommeh.

I really want to start puching out there though, so i want any feedback at all. Dont like the idea? let me know why!

I really like your ideas, and i my self am trying to find a good logo for Exasco!

I think that Exasco and myself will be able to put a reasonable amount of $$ towards producing these and then selling them for a little extra to make sure they go to good use is an excellent idea.

All the $$ we make can be put back into getting us known out there, And W0lv3n here has the spirit to bring this forum upwards, Who's here to help aswell!!!

All suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I just had a shower before I goto work, and i was thinking that we need a logo.
I think we need something set so we can start, so maybe if we start with trying to find a logo. I already have some ideas, ill piece some things together tonight and post em up.

yeah i think its a great idea. i have to say though that im not a big sticker person. but im sure other people will love them. ya know. posters might be cool though.

i dont understand about the brochures, what are we supposed to do with them? give them to people or something?

im still a bit iffy about these "kits". what are they exactly? i mean, what are wanting to use them for or whatever?

erm you said something about being in a design or printing company or something like that. so these designs arent really just limited to stickers and posters and stuff is it? i honestly think if you want to get noticed you need to go bigger than just stickers and stuff. get what im saying?

uh i think it was mark that said he wore a shirt once that people asked about. shirts are a great way to get noticed. an idea i was thinking of, which ive seen done before with other sites and stuff, was like hats and messenger bags or just other stuff. that would be awesome. i bet we would be surprised how stuff like that gets noticed. ya know. and i would totally buy one. well thats just my idea there.

but if you really want to do this brochure thing then maybe you could add like different stuff from different threads. or something like that. or we could use quotes. i saw on this one show where they had bunches of quotes on how that person/people helped them. that would be kinda cool. and it would probably be good to include some stuff that exasco does. ya know.

and those banners you made for exasko were awesome, so if you could make something like that for this exasco, then that would be awesome too.

a logo would be very much needed though, so keep thinking, im sure you all can come up with something. lol.

well i could maybe try to design some stuff, it would probably be abstract cause thats what i do, but i could fit in exasco and a logo. i dunno if thats a good idea or not. but i have some ideas.

a newsletter might be kinda cool. no idea what would be in it though.

The main concern i have is before we start collecting more and more information from the users, we have to have a privacy statement written up.

and the stickers are a really good idea

cause i know that in edinburgh when you walk around you see stickers just randomly stuck places and you kinda think hmmm i wonder what thats about

so if it had a web address on it i'm sure people would be like hmm whats this and go have a look

Yeah, shirts and messenger bags are good, but i think that would be more for a "site shop" kinda thing. Which is possible but i think maybe further down the track.

The kits would be more for users to get hold of and spread knowledge of exasco.
For example.
Say you want people to know about exasco - put a sticker on ur car bumper and people will have a look, put a sticker and a brochure at a youth group or community center. Pin brochures up on bulletin boards.

The brochures themselves will just be a basic outline of what exasco is, much like the homepage will. It may have an outline on what a forum is, how it works, and why it works. A few examples, what sorts of things exasko covers.

In terms of a logo, im just finished work, so ill start playing now. ive been thinking all night hehe.

ok! so round one of me sitting in front of computer pondering is complete.
I had 2 designs this time round , but one didnt make it to the final cut - it looked to... space-age thang...

The one i have posted i made not due to my recent black/white tree work, but because as a plant is symbolises life, growth, development and survival.

Logos are a thing that need to remain simple and neutral. They need to be able to work as black, white, and then as whatever colors they need to be, so thats why there are so many

remember it doesnt have to just be catchy, but it has to be simple as well as flexible.
You want something that can be used no matter what the color scheme or application (ie: letterheads, flyers, web sites)
