Smile
back to structure... lol
a smile so corroded from the deprivation of happiness
i wear it like a mask, to veil all of my distress
derived from desolation this pitiful smile seems
it's lost the radiance and warmth that gave it means
it's plastered on my face, in an awkward sort of way
giving the allusion that i'm going to be okay
it hides my confusion, my pain and self doubt
this smile hides my many scars both inside and out
it allows me the courage to go from day to day
and helps me go on when i want to throw it all away

There is nothing wrong with a short poem...it suits this one well and says everything it needs to say.

lol.... i been writting for years... and i throw them out so fast its krazy... tho my best ones take a few days... right now i am working on one that has taken me about 2 months.... i just have so many possibilities with it i seem to take it in so many directions that i have to cut it and remold it all the time... saving bits and peices for other poems i may do... seems the harder they are the better it turns out
