Pen and Pad
I hope my words are seen as brilliant
When I am dead and gone
They say poets beat fate
If people repeat their song
So from blister times
I write twisted rhymes
Putting my analysis in lines
In what we know as poems
Whether it is to thank God
For letting me get to know him
Before it was time for him to leave
Or questioning
Do only the weak believe
I cover many terrains
Including my pain
Some of my poems contradict
The ones that came before it
But that is life
When you live in a world where there is no right
Just perception
May I suggest then
What man could achieve
If he lost the attitude
Of what it will mean for me
They say poets can be fate
So I write every day
So when I awake at Heaven’s Gate
I will leave the world with nothing more to say
I hope my words are seen as brilliant
And not disparage
But either way
What a good marriage
For a boy who never had a friend or a dad
A pen and a pad.
