Don’t Rob People of the Joy of Helping
It is in my nature to be independent, and not seek nor take help. I felt it was a sign of weakness, to burden someone else with my woes. What is strange is how I would see it as a sign of weakness to seek help, yet I myself love helping others for the joy that comes with it. To be able to help someone who is in need of help, there is no better feeling. Yet I would refuse help. I would be stubborn and deny any hand that offered to help me. I wanted to be strong, and take care of myself. What I did not see is how I am cheating people out of the same good feeling. By refusing help, I refuse the person of the joy that comes with helping. When you help someone, it is a way that one shows how he or she feels about him or her. Don’t rob people of the joy that comes with helping, don’t suffer alone, when you let someone help you, it is truly a double win. You get the help that you need, and the person walks away feeling good about them.
