Gaining Weight. Help!

Ok this is a bit weird.
But apparently I need to gain weight, I know it's all about loosing weight at the moment, but my therpist is all worried and I've had eating disoders for years and I'm attempting to turn it around and be an all round healthy person without drugs and all that (fat chance right?)

Well. Are there any food I should be attempting and slowly building up to be eating to help me gain weight because I'm pretty underweight at the moment. It's kinda gross really.
I'm 5 foot 6 so my BMI is low (14) compared to my weight, which was like 90 lbs and under last time I was allowed to check reguarly.

Id say carbs! cos if you think you wanna do the opposite of when you wanna loose weight.

I guess obviously people whould say fatty foods high in saturated fdat but personally if i was in your situation id be careful with tha as eating lots of stuff liek that will get your weight up, but will proably give you much bigger problems like high colestoral etc.

Lots and Often and slowl make your portian sizes bigger too.

yeh i agree with crimson. just eat carbohydrate in bigger portions more regularly...try not to eat sugary fatty stuff still thouhg

protein. protein. protein. protein. carbs.

eating fatty foods isn't going to help, you just have to stock up on the higher-cal foods with more nutrients and such. ensure helps, if you're really too underweight. it's a supplementary drink. heard it's pretty disgusting but it helps.

higher calories is very bad if your not actually going to burn them off.
and the BMI arent too accurate, they dont take into account that your family may not be stocky people.

The BMI says im 27kg overweight for my height.
I suggest you purchase some protein milk shakes, they contain all the amino acids and will help you gain weight healthily

I dunno if I could hold down protein mile shakes!
I'm a vegetarian too, so what like beans and stuff for protein?
I know BMI isn't very accurate but I know I'm not healthy, I'm just less than 6 and a half stone, and that's not good I guess for a 16 year old?
I don't find it easy to hold down that much food, it's not easy to eat for me, I don't east fatty foods anyway, so that's not a problem but managing to hold things down.
Apparently gaining weight is a major part of recovering from anorexia and bulimia, but, I just don't even know where to start. Not just the physical side to it, the mental also.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone! I'll think about buying protein and carbs and stuff.

you dont want to gain weight the unhealthy way by eating high carbs and calories.

i believe 6 and a half stone is about 45kg?
It depends how tall you are to measure how much you weigh.

just eat a healthy diet, the protein shakes will certainly help with getting all the nutrients, amino acids and other stuff you dont get from meat.

If you are eating a healthy diet and you do not gain weight, then your body is right the way it is.

A massive tip when it comes to protein shakes, they taste gross, but i found a way to make them taste like iced coffee if you enjoy coffee

1 scoop of ice cream
1 teaspoon of coffee
1 scoop of protein powder
300ml of milk.

and blend it!

Yeah, apparently to be healthy I should gain like a stone! Ahh. the average for my age, gender and height is like 8 stone, but I dunno about the accuracy of that, it is an average after all.
No I don't eat a healthy diet, I've been anorexic for years and I just don't eat, that's why I'm underweight. I'm mal nurished as well, like, my hair is in bad condition and my teeth are bad and I never have any colour in my cheeks and all my bones stick out and stuff. I don't want to gain weight rapidly or anything, just something to build up to, have little meals for a while, try to be regular, then larger meals you know?

6 and a half stone, or about 90 pounds is 40kgs. I don't have any muscle build up at all, I'm real weak actually!

Hm. That's a good idea cheers. Are there any that don't have so much like creamy products in them? I like coffee (though ought to be careful with the caffine and all that, addictive personality and all..jokes) 'cos it's impossible for me to keep down milk based products, I'll try and eat them and literally they'll just come back up again, I can't take that much food or richness anymore.

i know you can mix the protein powders with water, but it tastes nasty.

Sorry, I said 60kgs, I meant 40kgs - sorry! Got the conversion wrong! I still use imperial for weights, don't ask me why.

Ive honestly tried, but only a very little, even skimmed milk.
It's so stupid! All this crap now for being skinny! I can't even fucking eat! Ahhh!

Hm. I suppose I'll have to try it.
Day by day I suppose, ok, so proteins, carbs, regular meals, no fatty stuff - I can so do this!
