Recent Troubles

Let's get straight to the point.
My grandma's about to die
My mother is depressed and I'm afraid she's going to start drinking again, which would ruin well, EVERYTHING, that either me or my mother has achieved in the last 5 years. I'm worried sick about my mums cause I'm just afraid that my grandma's death is going to push her to do something stupid. Can anyone give me advice how to confort her, cause so far any efforts my me have either failed or have been ignored.

Oh and on a competly separate note, is 22 a good ACT score, I have no idea, and I'm trying to figure out whether or not I should retake it

thanks all as usual,
Dreams.

im not sure on the ACT score, dont know how its graded.

But with your mum, just be there for here, give you a hug every now and then and just tell her that you love her. There is nothing better than knowing some one is there to support you when everything goes to hell.
I'm terribly sorry to hear about your grandma, i recently experienced the loss of my grandpa and it is very hard, hardest thing ive had to come to terms with. Only time can mend a wound like this one.

Tell your mum that you are worried she is going to go back to drinking in the event of your grandma passing and that it worries you lots, cry with her and let it all out.
It helps.

ahhh...

alcohol and death...why is it that the two always seem to be so close together?

I agree with mark, just be there to support her if she needs it, and give her space if she needs it...

I wish you all the best and i am very sorry :(

First of all Mum? (side joke)
To the point, for your mum this might really be hard, for her is might be what feels like the end of the world. The best thing you can do for yourself and her, is keep on her be around her, be nice to her (not suck ass) but remind her that you care about her it might make the pain a little easier. As well as reduce the chance of a relapse.

read carefully Nev, make me WANT to relapse, not going thought with it, it's just a simple urge, nothing I'm going to act on anytime soon anyways.

stress nearly always brings about thaghts for of a relaps, its good that you can see it and their fore try your best to prevent it.

Your Mum needs support, it could be that she is allready going thru the stages of greef and prepairing her self for the worst, be their for her, as others have said give her lots of love and hugs and stuff.

If your worryd about your mum relapseing maybe try and set up some sort of councelling for her?
