Just wanted to say "Remember the past, but look to the future."

It's time to stop this war. BRING OUR TROOPS HOME!!!!!

My thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones because of this war. And those who lost loved ones because of what happened on Sept 11th 2001.

Let us remember the past, but not dwell on it. Let us remember the past and let us the future of the world not make the same mistakes our parents and grand parents have. Let us the future learn and grow.

*bows head* let us remember, we do not have to make the same mistakes.

wow, it's shameful to say, but I didn't realize today was the 11th...

....It seems like forever ago
I was sitting in my 6th grade classroom, and back then I just didn't understand what was going on...
It was such a strange day..
I'm still not sure I understand really....

Yeahh I was so busy starting College today for the first time that it skipped my mind it was Sep. 11th. I was nine when it happened so the teachers didn't say anything about it to us, but we could sense something was up. Someone found out in my class through their parents on mobiles or something I think and that's how it got round us kids.

A tragedy. But as OzzieJess said, let us remember but not dwell on it.

My heart goes out to anyone here who was affected by 9/11 and everyone else out there too.

i remember like it was yesterday, the head teacher gatherd us all in the hall, and playd the footage to us, he wanted to show us that their is evil in the world, and he told us all that it was a tragic day, but we have to look past it, and see the futcher and live for that, not one of the darkest days in the history of america

umm bringing all the troops home wont solve much just now, with all these terrorists still on the go 9/11 could happen again thats why there all over there as it is to try and prevent all this, plus if we leave the middle east to there own doings then places like iran and, further off, N. korea will have nuclear power and weapons which will jepordise the entire world even further.

i agree that it was all a sad time and i remember it also, i dont know anyone who fell victim to these events but i feel for them and i believe that to prevent it again and to know peace we must first have war to secure it, otherwise these people will continue to cause problems as they see it as being part of islam and wont stop unless through force.

hang on, you say that we are in the middle east to stop terrorisum? that is bull shit! the UK hadnt had a terroist attack for years (from the IRA) untill 7/7, the rason for 7/7, our involvment in an illigal and unjust war!

Bring the troops home, if Iran, Iraq, Palistine and Isrial want to blow them selves up, let them go

we need to stop it yes its like an investment policy, hit it now save later. and if they all blow themselves up it will end up coming over here aswell but its all about democracy now, spreading peace in the only way people will listen it might sound evil but its a necassary evil. its not just iran etc wantin to have a go at israel they hate america aswell so what if a bunch of nuclear bombs blast the states or the rest of the world? what if we let that happen and enter a nuclear winter killin all of us, if goin to war is what it takes to prevent that then go for it.

i dont believe its an illegal war at all its justice with an iron fist its like when people stand up to bullies, is that illegal too? if wanting to stand up for ourselves and our allies and the free world is illegal then im guilty, if it was up to me i wouldnt be so lenient with them id carpet bomb half of the countries involved.

Bullys? urm Isiral is a bully, why dont we sort them out? or how about Zimbabway? they would be just causes, the ellected goverment of iraq have asked us to leave, but we havent, that to me is an invasion of a sovrin state.

This investment you talk about, was it worth the life of my cusin? or any of the others that have died out their?

where are the WMD's by the way?

im not too keen on takin the chance of a nuke being launched.

israel isnt much of a bully in my books, theyve had that whole area attacking them like in the 100 day war decades ago, just because there strong enough to defend themselves doesnt make them a bully, they dont preach that all christians are infidels and should be killed like these islam followers do, the muslim temple might be on the temple mount but then again the temple of solomon was there first and should be rebuilt (although in doin so will bring in the book of revalation scenario but im goin up top so that doesnt bother me).

if we left iraq there would be mass riots, civil wars and more casualties, that place is unstable and iraq needs a decent army to contain its own people thats why there staying there so long, so forsee a brighter future. and yes i agree about zimbabwe, robert mugabe should be removed but politics and democracy dont really allow that, but look at it this way, the zimbabweans kicked out all the white farmers and it was then that the famines started cause no one had the skills to farm well, thts the sort of thing that could happen elsewhere aswell.

think about the life of your cousin who went over to do his part in protecting people like you (sorry but im assumin he went to the middle east), then think about the people who died in 9/11 and there families, think about the people who died in the madrid train blast, and the people in london, should we all just think about ourselves and we've lost and give up to lose even more? i say no, i say we continue to fight and rid ourselves of these menaces who follow a corrupt version of islam, for the sake of our freedom and the sake of our future generations. to know peace we must also know war, to achieve complete peace we must remove those who stand in its way however long it takes. when people join the armed forces they know what the consequences can be, they know they can forfeit there lives but they go on anyway, they know its there duty as soldiers to protect people like us so instead of looking at our government, pointing the finger at them and accusing them of what would most likely be called warmongering in this case and then you go to the families of the victims of 9/11 and tell them why there should be no justice for there loses, go to the familes of the madrid bombin victim and say the same to them see what they reply with.

as far as the WMDs go, no there wont be any just now and thats a good thing the iranian prime minister said a few months ago that 'israel will disappear off the map whether we are involved or not' someone who says that should have an eye kept on them at all time and to have them develope nuclear technology even more worryin to me, i wouldnt risk it with those leaders in charge, with someone else a bit more peaceful fair enough but these leaders need to be replaced.

I didn't mean for this thread to be about the troops. but i have to say. I do want the Australian Troops to come home. It is not our war. If America wants the oils and crap they can do there own dirty work. :( but we never had any threats until we decided to go to war against them...

Then they attacked Bali. (yes not a place in Australia) but we lost so many Australians.

And how many people have died because of this war? to many.

SO Yes, I want the Australian Troops sent home.

firstly, I dont need protecting from Iraq, they arent trying to invade us, we invaded them, that would sugest that their civillians need protecting from us!

and secondly, Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9/11 that attrocity was the brain shit of one Osima Binladen, who is some where in teh Afgan mountins, or Pakistan. Sadam was a bad bad man, and deserved to hang, but he kept the Taliban out of his country, some thing we have faild misserably to do. Their is one reason and one reason only that the USA and then by default the UK & other alies followd, and that was for oil. We where lied to about WMD's and if regime change was a factor then their where easyer and lest costly ways to bring that about.
