I'm watching.
I turn very patriotic when it comes to sport (I'm a typical Aussie in that way - couldn't care less about the green and gold unless it has something to do with sport).
I just say the 4x100 freestyle - man, well done to America for pulling that out of their ass. France was so far ahead and the US swimmer came from behind like no one's business.
I am ashamed to say that I am one of those horrible people who get annoyed when America wins everything (*ducks rotton fruit being thrown her way*) but credit is due to that fourth swimmer. Well done!
And yay to Sullivan (first Aussie swimmer in that same swim) for smashing the 100 free world record for the first leg of the Aussie effort WOOHOO

The Olympics was a show my China, especially in the beginning when the soldiers did their show. They were up 48 hrs at times rehearsing. It was a show that they were showing the world, especially the US, that they were the new world power.
As far as Russia, nuclear bombs do not control the world. Now it is energy and they are trying to be the world's leader for this need.
They are all sick Ba......rds.
I am not watching, especially that they say the fix is in for the girl's gymnastics. We need Batman's help in China.
Ciao
Vitti

Imagine the world with no possessions...
It isn't hard to do

Imagine all the world in peace

They still have not listened. All this manure in Washington. What does it take for WE THE PEOPLE to understand

im avoiding the olimpics on morall grounds.

China has one of the worst human rights records in the world, they shy away from the international community and dose not accept international law. any country wishing to hold the olimpics should not have to promis to trat their people better!

Thats a good point , cj.

My sister was telling me that Beijing was only allowed to host the Olympics IF they did three things:
1) Clean up the smog
2) Allow free and open media coverage
3) Improve their human rights records

To which which you can look at it now
1) Please, you can barely see the athletes through the smog (fog my ass).
2) A reknown british journalsim was arrested for covering a Pro-Tibet protest. Not to mention if anyone in Beijing government reads this little innocent post, this site would prob be banned quicker than you can say "Tiananmen Square".
3) Oh, anyone heard of a certain situation going in in Tibet?

Lols the whole free media thing never happened... but what is worse is if you take your cell phone or laptop or whatever China is allowed to snoop thru it!
Yeah Tibet, Darfur, oh and did anyone hear about in order to build the olympic stadium they had to tear down a couple thousand houses, even if people lived there.
Yeah its fucked up and for the longest time I thought that we should boycott the olympics, but the only reason I do not stand behind that idea anymore is that it has been 4 years of training and prep for these men and women, I just dont think it fair for us to take that away from them.
