overwhelmed
i work graveyard shift at a nursing home. it is tough work and is very demanding physically and emotionaly. this past year i have lost 4 ppl and the last one was just a few days ago, tho he was 104 and lived a very long and fruitful life... i was really sad to see him go.. i really enjoy my job for the most part, but sometimes i get so stressed out. between trying to get my diploma and work i have barely any time for family or friends... tho my only friends are online and my fellow graveyard gurls.. my job can be really fun, like we get to watch tv and dink around since most of the time ppl are sleeping.
But there is so much annimosity between me and the damned housekeeper that works there.... she gets paid almost double wut i do and she doesn't do anything. yet she feels the need to tell me how to do my job. ive worked there for 2 years now and i really feel that i can handle it without her lil words of wisdom. she is just an old pain in the butt. i don't know, we just can't get along. and my boss just won't listen to ne one about how lil miss holly is lazy and shouldn't get paid for work she doesn't even do, but they are friends so she just tells us if we don't like it, quit... its really agrivating....
ne how... my job gets on my nerves but i love it. the residents are so kuewl.
there are 3 of us graveyard workers, me and paula and marlene.... paula is 24 and marlene is 47... it is funny but we all get along so well together.. paula is a gothic style gurl that was a bit sheltered and is really shy... marlene is kind of an ol hippie... she is awesome, really outgoing and the type that tells it like it is.... we all wish we could take a few days off together and go somewhere... lol... but our boss wouldn't allow it.
on top of all this work and a lil sleep thrown in... i have to deal with my birth sister. she is 22 and has 4 kids. they got taken from her kuz she is dumb and wasn't being good. well, she wants me to adopt her youngest kid if she can't get her back. and i am the only one she trusts, plus she said she just wasn't able to bond with this one... idk.. i just get so mad at her... she acts like the kid is disposable... she even told csd that if they didn't give her her kids back she would just have more.... am i the only one that thinks that was heartless?... idk... i love my sister, but i wish she would grow up and take responsibility.... i would adopt bailee (she's 6 months old), i just feel kinda trapped tho. i work almost 50 hrs a week and barely have time to sleep, plus i have debt and only live in a one bedroom house... idk if it would work.
my life seems so shaky right now, and i just feel overwhelmed by all this.
well enough of my complaining for now..

Hmmm perhaps you could adopts the kid once you have finished your course?
I think that if the child has heart problems its going to make life alot harder because your going to have to take them to the doctor lots and check on him all the time.
I mean it would be do-able if you werent working 50 hours a week at night, because little kids have nightmares and want to run to their parents room or they will cry all night.
And when it comes to the lady that is the house keepers, just agree with her and not do it.
I have encountered some one who was an absolute king of being a dictator and hes lucky hes not dead yet.
What do you want to do with life when you have finished your course?

Ahh yeah. alot on your plate :(
Personally I think that if you can't look after the kid....then you can't, and there is nothing wrong with that...you're sister should understand this seeing as it seems she can't do this herself...
As for the work...yeah, some people are dickheads and quite unfair...but you just gotta learn to live with them and ignore them because they are EVERYWHERE in life and normally they get what is coming too them To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. Whatever decision you make i'm sure will be made with the very best interests at heart.

I agree with the combination of Mark and Toffee (I finally remembered your nickname). I think that if you can not take care of the child as of current dont. You will make a life that is more difficult for both of you and depending on what the environment becomes due to the extra stress you yourself could lose the child because CPS might find the environment to be unsuitable. But I agree with Mark, finish you course, and then look at taking in the child.

thanks for the advise... sometimes i just get kirazie and think i can take on the world all the time.... i told my sister that after i am finished with skuewl and get my job figured out, i might change to days... then i will consider wether i can handle the baby or not. i guess it is not just a heart problem but also a stomach problem.... she can't keep any foods down and is loosing wt. idk.... i prolly wont be able to get the kid, cps wants her to be home 24/7 so i wouldn't be allowed to work... and i can't live on dreams... so it seems i have to find someone else to take her... but thank you all for ur support... it means so much to me...

how old are you? I think your sister needs some help, i take it as you were adopted as kids and didn't live together??? is that what you meant by "like i lost my brother and sisters when we were taken away"
It's hard enough looking after a kid with no problems, but one with illness is going to be hard work. It sounds like at the moment she might be better off with people who can help her.
also, when it comes to work just nod and agree with the lady and do the work, but make sure other see you doing the work. People will start to notice soon enough To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

I hope she doesn't lean on you too much. I've learnt that you can't save everyone. And you can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved. sounds like you sister doesn't want to be saved. sorry.
I hope she either gets her act together or realises that her kids need more then she is willing to give. I'm sure she loves them in her own way.
