Major Security Update Complete
As of 05-07-2007 @ 7:10pm Australian time GMT+10 majour security updates was commenced commenced.

Q. What does this mean to you?

A. This really will not affect your experience on Exasco too much for the next couple hours. Some of the things you may notice may be slow loading times on files, File Not Found Errors and an Increased database Errors.

Now this should render the forum useless, just make sure you copy your replies to posts before you post them, so that if the file you are needing to use is being updated, you wont lose all your data.

Q. What sorts of things are being update?

A. Mainly just updates on the old security loop holes that may allow hackers to penetrate the database and destroy parts of it and also coding errors that may have allowed a hacker to gain access to accounts and administration permissions.(Thankfully im not a total idiot and i backup the Exasco database weekly)

Q. Will you notice a difference after these updates have complete?

A. You will most likely not notice any changes to Exasco physically, but you may notice faster page loads and less database errors.

Any way, i better get on with it!

Yay Mark. If people donate to the site can they see the account number or something? Or is it just simple stuff like emails.

I'm not sure i understand what your question is asking.
are you asking about benefits you get from donating?
if so, there will be things like extra email space, a skin without ads and annoying things.

oh, what a hacker can do is just collect your details, such as email address or he could delete the entire site.
which wouldnt do too much dammage, maybe just set us back a week..
