This really sums up a good example on how the myths and word of mouth about certain things can change societies view tottally.

I have always considered steroids an option for when im older and when my body has stopped growing.

I even recommended to my mum to get my grandpa's doctors to place him on steroids or testosterone therapy because he has given up on life, Testosterone is a powerful chemical compound that can greatly increase the lively hood of some one that has no hope. It gives you a powerful feeling, the drive to want to compete and be better.

There is a 70 year old man in this video that i rekon he could kick my ass and probably half the football team at my school.

Steroids have been proved to have ZERO side affects on healthy adult males.

Hm, thats some very interesting information, and thought.

But I wonder about older people using thereapys such as that (not just steroids), are we just not accepting our humanity? Should we accept what comes with being old?

There's also the other side, maybe we should, maybe treatments like the above are good because our whole lives we have been doing things that essentially make us less naturally human (hormones, antibiotics). Maybe we will eventually become a completely manufactured race.

MAYBE, I've just done too much acid today wooo!!!!!! BRAWR

lol.
possibly.
I think that in the future we will probably be a Genetically Modified race, because we are able to clone people, grow organs and choose what genes people are going to have already... the future just holds more.

That is interesting actually yeah, cheers.
But I think it depends on usage, as with everything really. If someone where to use steroids sensibly and under medical supervision, then it's their choice really. But it's like with most drugs when they are used out of context or just by people who are ill informed.
And also, one of the problems with steroids that the public have is the ‘unlevel playing field’ thing that the video refers to, which to be fair, is true to an extent and need to be tested and things in sports like that. And I mean, like the video says the unfairness in popular sports is one of the reasons the public view changed on steroids.
And also note – the short term studies that have been made. The long term effects ‘appear’ to be low. Although this is evidence for the argument for steroids, to really make it strong, more long term studied need to be taken for both sides of the argument.

Doesn’t that worry you though? What is wrong with just being a human? We are not super humans, and I don’t think we don’t need to be.
As a society, we are so afraid of death and aging, but, it’s part of life, why should we meddle with it? People die and age, it’s natural. From my experience with drugs (and I know it’s not the same) I’ve learnt meddling with chemicals and changing yourself physically, to the extent that it will determine my life span, well, it’s just a little fucked up you know?

But we're already so far from being "human". We are all on shit that is out of control. Our food is full of chemicals and medicine. Though what about the idea that it's ok? As humans our natural defense to survive is to create ways for us to survive, our defense is our mind and it's great ability. So perhaps modifying ourselves isn't that bad because we've been doing it for a very very long time. We modify our environment through creating houses, fire, alcohol. All of this not only effects us, but effects the rest of the world. No matter what we do, we will always have to create our adaptions.

I guess so, but are do we really need drugs to survive as a race?
Exactly! Thus all this so called 'organic' and 'free range' bullshit they sell us in supermarkets, although we strive to survive, it's not exactly the same in our western world today, we don't battle against weathers or wild beasts you know! We don't need chemicals or medicines or drugs to sirvive as a race in that animalistic sence.
I mean, it's natural for us to strive to survive, but should it be through natural resources? We don't know what the long term effects of pumping ourself with drugs and chemicals yet, we've really not been doing it for long, how about the idea that although you may think these drugs and chemicals are prelonging our lives, are they shortening our life span as a collective in the long term?

Indeed, perhaps, we're so far gone there's no amount of organic murder that'll save us now. And they certainly shall be mine!

I think that the future is always going to be more far out and crazy to the generation before that time..
my mum was around when a computer was as big as an entire room and all it could do is process numbers..
she was born when penicilin was just start to be used in medicine.

a computer, technology and all the new stuff, she rekons is going to destroy us.
i think as people we adapt and thats what we are good at, adapting to environments that we arent used it. i think that our bodies will adapt or we will find a way to stay alive..
personally, i hate the idea of prolonged life and living forever.
i want to accomplish what im aiming for and then die in peace.

Yeah dude, I don't know if I want to live for even 100 years. But who knows, we are all incredably young.

HAHA, I made deals like that too with friends! (except for I'm somehow going to marry 2 or 3 women later in life, ,and i'm gay...hmmmm)

Yeah, chemicals are amazing. I'm hoping that we do figure out ways to create chemicals that are not harmful or our bodies do not build a resistance to. Like I'm just wondering, what happens when we run out of chemicals that react with our bodies.

Take LSD for example. There are like 50 different durrivitaves of LSD, but only LSD-25 has the effect on the human body. What happens when we run out of chemicals that actually effect us?
