Personally I think that if you can't look after the kid....then you can't, and there is nothing wrong with that...you're sister should understand this seeing as it seems she can't do this herself...
As for the work...yeah, some people are dickheads and quite unfair...but you just gotta learn to live with them and ignore them because they are EVERYWHERE in life and normally they get what is coming too them
