The Valentine’s Rose

I wanted to give you a gift this year but what am I to do
I have no money to buy you a gift, so this will have to do
I have no creativity so I can’t draw a damn thing
But I love you so much that I have to do something
So in your hands lay my gift to you, the one I love




You can feel the pedal against your skin as you hold it close to you. The velvety feel that reminds you of your lovers touch whenever you’re close. You can smell the sweet smell emanating from the petals, the smell that reminds you of just how sweet and smooth that he can be. You can see the beautiful red color, symbolizing the passion that is shared between us both. You can also feel the thorns, but that’s ok. A relationship must sometimes suffer pain, but in the end you still love him. The rose is placed in a Vase, but it eventually wilts, and you realize that you only have so much time to love someone, so find someone and hold on, before they begin to wilt.

This is all I have to give, the words of a man in pain. I don’t have anything else, except my heart. If that is not enough, then I guess it’s not love after all.
